Golf Shop and Website
The golf shop and website are dedicated to informing and improving golfers locally and over the internet. We continually strive to give you, our loyal customers, the best and latest in golf.

Teaching Academy
At Forest of Galtres Golf Academy Alastair and his golf team use sophisticated video analysis to diagnose swing faults in minute detail. The first objective is to diagnose the fault, the second is to help you understand the reasons for your poor shots, and then an action plan is set out so you can improve your game. You will be given the building blocks to improve your experience, and your golf. Your instructor will work with you on every aspect of your golf swing to improve power, accuracy and consistency. To be a complete player you must have a great short game, therefore your instructor will put great emphasis on improving this as well. Playing lessons and on-course strategies will also help your game. We work on every aspect of your game including biomechanical function, nutrition, golf fitness and psychology.

Alastair J. Grindlay - Biography
Alastair turned professional in 1995 at Pike Hills Golf Club in York. He subsequently qualified as a PGA Professional while at Malton & Norton GC. Soon after qualifying Alastair was keen to move abroad to further his career. Alastair moved to Germany to take up the role of teaching professional at GC Hardenberg in Goettingen. After two successful seasons he took up the post of teaching professional at Greenlife Golf in Marbella, Spain. Although enjoying the lifestyle abroad the desire to come 'home' and establish his reputation was always there. When an opportunity with Tim Jenkins at Romanby GC arose the pull was too much to resist. Soon Alastair became Head Teaching Professional and was privileged to be a coach to the Yorkshire Girls and Romanby and Bedale GC Juniors. In early 2006 Alastair took the position of Head Professional at Aldwark Manor GC where he successfully established the professional shop and teaching academy. Alastair has now been building his business at Forest of Galtres since 2009.
